Want to stay in your home as you age?

We can help!

Welcome to Raleigh Village East (RVE), a non-profit organization designed to help adults 55 and older who want to “age in place” and remaining in their homes as they age. With the help of volunteers and by providing access to useful resources, our virtual village can provide support to supplement that from family, friends and communities of faith.

Raleigh Village East invites neighbors who live within our RVE neighborhoods to be “Villagers”: those who need help, those who might provide help, and those who generously support RVE through donations. In this way, our senior Villagers will gain both the practical means and the confidence to live their lives to the fullest in the homes and communities they love, and all who support them will be part of a multi-generational network fostering social engagement, pursuing shared interests and just having fun.

Today, Raleigh Village East Villagers come from neighborhoods including:

  • Capitol Heights
  • Capital Park
  • Chavis Park
  • Cotton Mill
  • Idlewild
  • Madonna Acres
  • Mordecai
  • East Mordecai
  • Oakdale
  • Oakwood
  • Pilot Mill
  • South Park

Aging brings inevitable changes that may require different levels of support from time to time, and aging alone can pose problems. Raleigh Village East offers an alternative to leaving your home and community through its network of neighbors, volunteers and service providers. Our goal is that by working together we can stay independent as long as possible.

Message from the CEO

Dear All,

This is a good time of the year to think about belonging. My Facebook feed is full of students going back to school, the last family reunions and trips of the summer and fall invitations coming during the last few months of 2024.

If you have not already, we invite you to join Raleigh Village East and become a Villager, to belong with us in a way that is meaningful to you. We have a number of opportunities, ways to get started, by signing up on our website. This is a FREE membership.

or you may e-mail us at hello@raleighvillageeast.com.

We use a universal term, Villager. Whether you need aging in place services from us in the short or long term, want to participate in our social events, want to volunteer, or provide financial support as a donor, we have a place for you here.

Along those lines, we will launch “Ballots and Bag Lunches,” an effort to combine civic and social engagement for Seniors who want to get to the polls early. Be on the lookout for more information!

And as we organize, we are looking for volunteers, donors, and Villagers who need or can provide transportation to the polls. RVE would love to support partners who are helping seniors vote in a non-partisan way.

I hope you will join us now and in all that is to come. And I hope you will feel that you belong with us.
